I have always been an active and competitive person. Growing up, I competed in the American Quarter Horse Association for 4 years. Through high school and college, I was a member of dance teams, which provided me with experiences competing on a national and local level, as well as being involved in the basketball spirit squad and local community appearances and charity events. I coached the North Georgia College and State University dance team for 2 years after that. I also ran the 400 and 4x4 events in track for a few years in high school. I have completed a half marathon, competed in several Crossfit competitions and was State Champion in Olympic Weightlifting in 2022 and record holder for the snatch in the same year.

After graduating with my Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from North Georgia College and State University in 2009, I moved to Portland, Oregon to attend University of Western States, where I earned a second Bachelor of Science in Biology, a Master’s in Exercise and Sport Science, and a Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine. I am certified through the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, and I have a post-doctoral specialization as a sports chiropractic, otherwise known as a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Practitioners. I am a full-body certified Active Release Technique provider and I have experience with:

-Diversified technique -SFMA -Kinesiology taping -Activator technique -Functional Movement Screens -Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue -FAKTR -Applied Kinesiology

I worked for 3 years in different physical therapy offices and environments and 2 years in sports and conditioning programs, including an internship with the University of Texas Football Strength and Conditioning program. I have honed my skills as a Sports Medicine Chiropractor by working with athletes from a myriad of disciplines, including but not limited to: football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tennis, rugby, running, swimming, handball, rodeo, dance and CrossFit.

My practice is built around patient-centered care, functional rehabilitation and providing exceptional chiropractic treatment. In addition to my passion for sports medicine and chiropractic, the experience I have with a large variety of musculoskeletal conditions and types of sports, sets me apart from other healthcare providers.

Hey there!

My name is Dr. Peyton Vickers DC, BS, FAKTR, BRM, APCC and I’m a physical rehabilitation, manual therapy and performance enhancement expert specializing in biomechanics.

I’ve been an athlete my entire life but high school is really where all of this started. I sustained a lot of injuries including a broken neck and my football career ending. I decided to go for track and did very well and eventually was awarded a scholarship to run D1 track (100m, 200m, long jump, triple jump and high jump). I qualified to regionals and nationals where I would get injured again. This time I broke my lower back in 2 places so I had two options, surgery or physical therapy. I chose physical therapy and although I was happy with my choice, I never really reached 100%, they treated me as if I was made out of glass, everything was extremely light weight, slow, etc. So I did my own research, focused on true strength and mobility and got myself back on track.

I decided to become a doctor to bridge the gap and empower my patients. I know first hand what injuries and pain can do to someone. It’s not just physical, it can really get in the way of your quality of life and I want to advocate for you. I’m here to tell you this: You are not fragile. You are resilient, strong and brave. Utilizing Apex Sports Medicine and all that it offers to invest in your health is the best thing you’ll ever do. I can’t wait to meet you!
